The Winter-less North
The Northland region offers some of the most scenic coastal scenery in New Zealand. Described by many as the winter-less region that has a tropical feel to it, this can be seen in the beautiful tropical forests and crystal blue ocean waters throughout the region.
The region has a rich golfing history holding some of the world's best courses with the likes of Kauri Cliffs golf course ranked in at 49th in the latest world rankings and Tara Iti golf course which I'm sure will be a new edition in up and coming publications.

Maori cultural experiences at the Treaty of Whatangi grounds

Kauri trees- Tāne Mahuta is a giant kauri tree (Agathis australis) in the Waipoua Forest. Its age is unknown but is estimated to be between 1,250 and 2,500 years. It is the largest kauri known to stand today.

Russell- Just a short ferry from Paihia to the historic Russell which was New Zealand's first capital following the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840
Golf courses
Kauri Cliffs Golf Course
Words cannot describe how stunning this place is. With beautiful panoramic views of the Pacific ocean, it was designed by the late David Harman to bring you a golf experience you can't forget. Personally it's my favourite course. Fifteen holes view the Pacific from high cliff tops while the inland holes take you through forest and farmland. Offering five sets of tees, this course offers a challenge to players of every skill level. Kauri Cliffs was selected 49th Best Golf Course in the latest Golf Digest USA publication also selected Kauri Cliffs as 'Best New International Golf Course of 2001'.
Mangawhai Golf Course
Mangawhai is a superb sand-based course with a true test to a golfer's ability. In my opinion it is one of the best golf club courses in New Zealand. A real hidden gem that is always in exceptional condition, it's internationally rated as a "must play" course.
Waitangi Golf Course
Set on the historical land that overlooks the Bay of Islands, the Waitangi Golf Course has stunning panoramic sea and island views towards Russell. The course provides an exciting and ever changing challenge to the golfer but also offers four sets of tees to suit all golfing abilities.
