The word weight shift has been thrown around a lot in golf instruction, I feel this term for what coaches or information providers use should be reconsidered to pressure(center of pressure) and mass(center of mass).
Walking and running gives a great everyday illustration of how we push behind us momentarily to move our mass forward. Here is the fastest man in history over 100 meters Usain Bolt showing what I am meaning. In the golf swing its to a smaller degree but same concepts.
Our pressure moves to our trail foot early on in the backswing and momentarily while our mass is staying in the inside of the feet.
